How is it April Already?!

It's hard to believe this weekend it will be April already! Whether its the fact that each week we are jam-packing so many fantastic events in, or whether it's just because we are getting old, but time seems to be whizzing past!

Last week was utterly awesome, with 4 great events. Steve Winch & The Inception kicked us off, with a fantastic night of original mod inspired tunes with punk attitude & 60s melody... It was SO good, we can't wait to have the guys back with us 21st July for another great performance. On Friday we saw the return of our Hip Hop Lounge and as always, there was a fantastic atmosphere and so much talent stepping up on the stage. Saturday we had the rescheduled gig from The Fret Heads, and they absolutely blew us away and then on Sunday, DJs Double Deckers provided a brilliant soundtrack of Soul, mod, punk & ska classic vinyl, perfect for a sunny Sunday!

We have said before that we have absolutely heaps of events that we want to run, and it's true! The hold up for most of them was the obvious problems that the whole industry faced over the past couple of years, however, now things have vastly improved, just trying to catch our breath for long enough to launch new events has in itself become problematic! But we are pleased to announce that April will be seeing the return of a few, very missed, great events as well as a couple of new ones...

Castle Comedy returns on the last Wednesday of each month (27th April) and will be bringing you a fantastic bill of brilliant comedians.

The last Thursday of each month, starting on the 28th April, we will be relaunching our Before World Domination event, showcasing some of the best high energy, originals bands on the circuit that are set to take the industry by storm. If you want to be able to say, "I remember seing [such & such] before they were hugely famous", then this is the event for you!

Plus we will see a return to our Mystery & Murder Night, which will now be held every 1st Wednesday of the month. This is a blend of an escape room, murder mystery, games night, bar and drunken stupidity! Teams of up to 6 people and it takes 1-2 hours to play. Free Entry and chilled atmosphere.

We will also be launching our Jam Night... 2nd Thursday of each month (starting 14th April). As we have so many talented musicians that regularly frequent our bar, it seems a waste to not make the most of that and give them the opportunity to step up on the stage! We now have a house drum kit and whilst other instruments will need to be brought down by performers (guitars/bass) we hope this event will become an amazing showcase of talent, great fun for anyone who attends and a good way for musicians to network and enjoy a few beers and a jam in a great surrounding (obviously)! It will be free entry and more details will be released next week.

Well, that is plenty for us to be getting on with, but watch this space as we still have plans for another couple of monthly events that we are hoping to launch for May.

So, coming up next week at The Crooked Crow Bar...

Unusually, we have not got any events planned for Wednesday and Thursday this week. This is partly because one of the dates was saved for a local group who now no longer need to use it, (which is completely fine, as we know exactly what it is like to get snowballed by day-to-day stuff when you're an independent business) and partly because we have such an EPIC weekend lined up, we need time to prepare!!! We will be open Wednesday and Thursday 3pm-11pm, as a bar only, with pool table out and great tunes playing, so make the most of the opportunity to come and join us!

This Friday (1st April). Doors 8:30pm

Great news! This Friday we have our awesome Metal Night, with 2 fantastic original metal bands, Vicrus & Bring To Bear, both fresh to the circuit, ready to blow you away! But, it get's even better... Entry is just £5 and all advance ticket holders will be entered into our competition to win a £50 voucher to spend at Rising Phoenix Tattoo & Piercing Studio!!!

To be entered into the competition, just buy your ticket in advance:
